The majority of girls my age look to Beyonce as an idol and role model for her previous public image - however recently like many others I am beginning to lose the faith. So fine Beyonce now smokes and portrays herself as the perfect housewife in her new music video (hence the link) and asks 'why don't you love me?' whilst she does the ironing or slaps her bum drinking a cocktail, obviously I get how this is a pleaser to all the guys out there who practically infatuate over her, however I have always respected her for hiding her private life and being in the limelight for good reasons, since video phone with lady gaga, she's gone down in my books. Don't get me wrong I love lady gaga so much and find her a style icon, however I expect all the crazy and bad stuff that comes with her as this is how she franchised herself from the start! Beyonce seems to be trying so hard to be different now it has backfired, in telephone she gives off the complete wrong message - acting all 'badman' with her mass homicide, yet in the un-cut version she doesn't even pluck up the courage to swear, a bit of a contrast eh? Now I know morals are a thing of fairy-tales that you take away and learn from as a child, but I still believe that someone as idolized as Beyonce should still have some good messages to take away! I don't know why I was so shocked at her new music video its not even that unusual, however my plea for this to just be a phase is massive!! If this is the new Beyonce I don't like her! So many teenagers look to her in absolute awe and admiration, like me I have found that some people are beginning to (even) get upset by her changes!! Change isn't always a good thing!

Kensington Palace's Enchanted Palace
When I found out Kensington Palace - one of London's most beautiful landmarks was doing an enchanted palace theme, I was pretty damn exited, and when a venue like that features my favourite designer Vivienne Westwood I am definitely going to go. The stories of Kensington's princesses are being told with an array of fashion, music and performances. The reason this is happening is due to the £12,000,000 renovation of Kensington Palace. The way the experience is planned is playing on the senses, e.g. sounds and visuals - using music and fashion to tell the story of the seven princesses of London. Here's a link to a video of the designers speaking of the stories of Kensington. http://www.hrp.org.uk/KensingtonPalace/stories/Palacehighlights/EnchantedPalaceintroduction.aspx Friday, 4 June 2010
McQueens new collection to be auctioned.
What do you think of the old 'a legend has just died lets mourn by getting money out of it' card, this was played with Michael Jackson and Diana, now it seems Lee Mcqueen's next on the hitlist, Vogue are publicising some of his new collection items to be auctioned - fair enough we all want to get our hands on something of his, however not for nearly £20,000 and certainly not directly after his death, it seems no one is taking the time to appreaciate his genius, instead a group of rich women are fighting eachother out for some items of his. If I was in control of this i would do a V and A exhibition of his works throughout his life, this was all the young fashion and art students could see his stuff instead of it being locked away in a London penthouse wardrobe - whats your views?

The Terry Richardson debate, is he too sexual or is it art? http://www.terryrichardson.com/ see for yourself
so avoiding my revision i came across an angry mob of bloggers who were talking about Terry Richardson and his sexual photos, now i have never really looked into it much, so i took a closer look - if i'm honest its just porn meets a fashion accessory to avert the eyes. So i had a bit of a debate with myself - in what ways could this be considered art and acceptable to little children searching the internet and looking at this for 'art'? The fact is to me he just looks like a dirty old man you find on edgeware road ready to pounce on the young ambitious women who want to kick start their modelling career- i think the fact that on the 'model for me' tab there's a picture of a door with the number 69 on it says it all - I don't know about you, but he needs to tone down his foreplay act as just because he's a high up photographer making it acceptable to the fashion industry does not make it acceptable to those who find this vulgar to an extent that its like porn - who agrees with me? (and please be nice it's my first blog!)
